Art of tailoring

Creating masterpieces

The art of fine tailoring is a tradition born out of dedication to craft and beauty, passed down through generations. At Hajjo this artisanal expertise has been at the heart of who we are since 1960. Each garment is personal from the beginning, designed with intention to reflect the life that will be held within it.

Our tailors are masterful artists. From the first consultation to the cutting of the cloth and the final pressing of a finished suit, they dedicate their passion, expertise and skill to every moment, investing in each detail.

People think this work is about cloth. It is not. It is about the millimetre: the pitch of a shoulder, the roll of a lapel, the fall of a trouser. These are not details. They are the pieces that make a whole.

From store to atelier, Hajjo master tailors work with each client to bring the finest fabrics to life, creating unique garments that combine individual needs, desires, form and fit with the subtle and unseen details that make a suit unmistakably Hajjo.

The final result is a work of art: the sartorial at its fullest, with the comfort of a suit made just for you.

The Hajjo workshops

Hajjo was founded in 1960 as a tailoring house and has carried the family's name in its stores since 1991. Today the house makes in two workshops, in Homs and in Obour City on the edge of Cairo, with more than a thousand people on floors that cover eighteen thousand square metres.

Egypt gives the house its cotton, the finest in the world, and a tradition of making that reaches back further than any tailoring house. It is here that the suits and shirts of Hajjo Tailoring are cut, sewn and pressed, by people who have tailoring in their blood.

The gift of knowledge

Tailoring is a cultural legacy, passed from master to apprentice through families and communities in a continuous process. At Hajjo the tailors who cut your pattern learned from the tailors who came before them, in the same house, over more than sixty years.

Every pattern that leaves the cutting table carries that knowledge, and keeps it, in your name.

A man comes to us before the moments of his life: the wedding, the speech, the first day of something new. There is always a small silence when he first sees himself in the finished suit, the moment he looks at himself differently.

That is the moment we work for. Not simply to build a beautiful suit, but to understand the life of the man in front of us, and to shape the shoulders that will carry it.
